Coded Arms

April 7th, 2010 parašė karolis17

Coded Arms is a first-person shooter video game that was developed and published by Konami for the PlayStation Portable handheld in 2005. Tentatively it was titled “Exploration Based Horror FPS”.

Plot

The game takes place inside a virtual reality military training simulator, which has been abandoned. However, the program continues to run, generating enemies for the no longer present soldiers-in-training. The player takes the role of one of the many hackers attempting to break the codes of the simulator and derive the most valuable data possible. To do this the player must explore several “sectors” that are infested with various kinds of enemies, including soldiers, giant bugs and security bots. The only way to survive and get the greatest rewards is by destroying the enemies and the bosses at the end of the most difficult sectors.

Gameplay

Features

  • Thirty weapons
  • Random level design
  • Ability to upgrade weapons
  • 5 different weapon attributes
  • Mix and match armor types
  • 3D in-game map
  • Wireless Ad-Hoc multiplayer with up to four players
  • Three different multiplayer modes: Deathmatch, Keep the Mark and Last Man Standing

Equipment

In Coded Arms, equipment is acquired from defeated enemies. Because the game takes place in a computer program, the equipment and pickups are named with extensions, much like in a conventional computer.

  • .arm indicates one of 23 different guns
  • .cbx indicates one of 10 different grenades
  • .dfn indicates one of 18 different kinds of armor
  • .utl powerup (i.e. invisibility)
  • .blt ammunition pickup
  • .med health pickup
  • .upg weapon or health upgrade

Weapons, grenades and armor are obtained by picking up files in the game. All of the weapons and grenades can be upgraded by picking up a certain amount of Opt_Key.upg files (The amount varies from weapon to weapon). The players health starts the game at 100, but can be increased by picking up HX.upg files which increase your health limit by 10 up to a maximum of 250.

Attributes

All of the weapons and armour in Coded Arms have one of five different attributes. The available attributes are: physical, electrical, light, fire and viral. Certain attributes are more effective against certain enemies. For instance, bots can be overloaded by weapons with the electrical attribute and bugs usually dwell in the dark so light weapons do the most damage to them. The enemies in Coded Arms also use weapons with different attributes and therefore one can get certain types of armor that are resistant to attacks of a certain type. For instance the Optical Jacket (Opt_JKT.dfn) is resistant to weapons with the light attribute.

Bosses

In Coded Arms there are three different bosses which are detailed as follows. They are Enforcer, Mantis and Colossus. Each of them are encountered in the end of a battlefield in Sector 02. Defeating all three of them concludes the “story” part of the game, but leads to the “infinity”, Sector 03.

In addition to appearing on the final levels of each battlefield in Sector 02, each boss also appears in every thirtieth level in Sector 03 Infinity with Mantis first appearing on level 10, Enforcer on level 20 and Colossus on level 30. After level 30 the cycle repeats itself with Mantis on level 40, Enforcer on level 50 and so on. Also each time you encounter a boss in Sector 03 Infinity the boss’ difficulty increases.

April 7th, 2010 parašė karolis17

Burnout Legends is the fifth game in the popular Burnout franchise, specifically released for the PlayStation Portable on September 13, 2005.

Gameplay

In the game, you compete in a series of racing modes to unlock new tracks, cars, and events. The following list the 9 main types of modes in the game:

  • World Tour: Compete against other cars in different varieties of modes (see below). The world tour is divided by car types. Get a medal (Gold:1st place, Silver: 2nd place, Bronze: 3rd Place) in a series to unlock Grand Prix. Finish gold in grand prix to unlock next world tour series. World tour is the primary way to unlock cars.
  • Race: Race against up to four cars (world tour default is 4) in a 3 lap race on any track.
  • Eliminator: (Only accessible in world tour) Same as a race, only on each lap the lowest ranking car is eliminated. Race goes until one winner is left.
  • Face-Off: Race against a legend car to win the car.
  • Time Attack: Race against the clock. The goal is to complete a lap as fast as you can. You can do as many laps as you like.
  • Burning Lap: World tour version of time attack. You try to complete a lap by the medal time (Example: Finish before gold medal time 1:00:00 to earn gold medal).
  • Road Rage: Make other cars crash to earn takedowns. In world tour, you will have a time limit. You finish by running out of time on the clock or inflict too much damage.
  • Pursuit: You play as the cop. Try to take out the bad guy before time runs out or your health gets too low. All new boss challenge pursuit events. Final event is Total Pursuit. Get Gold in Total Pursuit to unlock Legend Series.
  • Crash: Compete in crash events to unlock new cars and levels. (Also in world tour.)

Vehicles

There are a total of 95 cars to unlock through the various modes- these are compact, muscle, coupe, sport, super, race special and legend series. Cars can also be unlocked by completing all pursuit, road rage, etc. events. These are from Burnout 2 & 3.

The game also has Collector’s cars. There are 5 collector cars for each class, however the player only starts out with just one. To get the other four, the player has to challenge another player on a Wi-Fi battle mode, betting their collector car against theirs and win their car in the challenge.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

April 6th, 2010 parašė karolis17

Need for Speed: Most Wanted: 5-1-0 is a PlayStation Portable port of Most Wanted, released on the same day as its console and personal computer counterparts. Similar to Most Wanted, Most Wanted: 5-1-0 features a similar Blacklist 15 listing and Career Mode, with the addition of “Tuner Takedown”, a “Be The Cop” mode not featured on Most Wanted. Most Wanted: 5-1-0 lacks many elements of its other console and PC counterparts, like cut scenes, a storyline and a free roam mode, and contains minor differences (including listing the real name of a Blacklist racer rather than his/her nickname). The title of the game is based on the numerals “5-1-0″, which is the police code for street racing.

Age of zombies

April 6th, 2010 parašė karolis17

Age of Zombies is an undead-slaughtering romp through time as protagonist Barry Steakfries undoes the history-altering work of Professor Brain. Traveling to prehistoric times, thirties Chicago, ancient Egypt, medieval Japan and the future, Barry will take down zombies with all manner of weaponry, earning points for combo kills and taking on a number of bosses, all the while making silly one-liners.

It’s very hard to screw up a top-down shooter, so it’s safe to say that Age of Zombies is pretty damn playable. The aim of the game is to score points by using unique weapons and hitting as many targets as possible before the ammo runs out. Barry earns no points for using his standard gun, so the player is encouraged to run around the map, grabbing SMGs, flamethrowers, shotguns, miniguns and explosives.
